4 Stages of E’s

The 4 Stages of E’s is a simple framework for thinking about the journey from initial contact to deep engagement.

Exposure – someone encounters you for the first time. They become aware that you exist.

Experience – they have an interaction with you. They form an impression.

Engagement – they begin to actively participate. They respond, contribute, return.

Endorsement – they advocate for you. They bring others. They take ownership of the relationship.

Most organisations invest heavily in Exposure and neglect everything else. The mistake is thinking that more Exposure leads directly to Endorsement. It doesn’t. You have to earn your way through Experience and Engagement first.

The question for any organisation: where are people dropping off? At which stage are you losing them? That’s where to invest.
