5 Things You Need To Blog Every Month

If you want to blog consistently and usefully, here are 5 things you need to do every month.

1. Write one piece you’re proud of

Not a post that’s good enough. A post that represents the best of what you can do. The one that took the longest, cost the most, and gave the most. Even in a month of average output, this one piece justifies the rest.

2. Respond to every comment

Every month, go back through your recent posts and make sure you’ve responded to every comment. This sounds basic, but most bloggers let comments go unacknowledged for days or permanently. A response is a relationship.

3. Share someone else’s work generously

Find something that deserves more attention and give it some. Not as a transaction. Because it’s good and people should know about it. Generosity in distribution is a form of leadership.

4. Ask your readers a real question

Not ‘what do you think?’ A specific, answerable question that invites them into the thinking. The best posts end with a question that the comment section genuinely answers.

5. Review what worked and what didn’t

At the end of the month, look at what connected and what didn’t. Not just traffic. Comments. Depth. The conversations it started. Then adjust.
