My Values
I’ve been thinking about my values – not as a branding exercise, but as a practical filter.
When I know what I value, decisions become easier. When a situation arises and I’m not sure what to do, I can ask: what would someone who holds these values do?
My current list:
People over process. Systems and structures exist to serve people, not the other way around.
Depth over breadth. I’d rather know a few things well and a few people deeply than have a shallow relationship with everything.
Honesty over comfort. I try to say what I actually think, even when it’s awkward. And I want people around me who will do the same.
Action over perfection. Done and imperfect beats perfect and never started. Most of the time.
Together over alone. The best things I’ve been part of were built with others. I don’t believe in the lone genius.
Values are not aspirations. They’re descriptions of how you actually make decisions under pressure. If they don’t hold when things are hard, they’re not really your values.
