The 4 Universal Social Gifts

There are four universal social gifts that we can all give, regardless of resources.

1. Time. Your attention and presence. The decision to be fully there, rather than partially elsewhere.

2. Talent. Your skills, knowledge, and expertise. Applied in service of someone else’s need.

3. Treasure. Your financial resources, used in service of others. Often the least of the four in terms of impact, but the easiest to give.

4. Tongue. Your words. Your encouragement. Your recommendation. Your voice, used to amplify others and speak truth.

Most people default to Treasure because it requires the least of them. But Time and Tongue are often what people need most – and they cost nothing but intentionality.
