What Are Your Social Sales Funnels?
Blogs are not businesses. A blog is a promotional medium and a communications platform. The real question is: to what end?
After a conversation with Robin Dickinson, I mapped out three funnels that I think I have:
Sales Seeds are those that I scatter my message to – unlikely to buy any paid products. What they consume are my blog posts, Twitter stream, shared items. The currency I have with them is sharing.
Sales Teams are those who sneeze my message to others. They verbally tell others about me. Whilst they probably won’t buy my high-end products, they will purchase mid-range products. More importantly, they are my sales team. The currency I have with them is promoting.
Sales Leads are those who buy my high-end consulting. As a premium-priced consultant I deliver premium value, so naturally I don’t have many at once. The currency I have with them is buying.
These three funnels flow to the product. For me, my greater value is not in ebooks but in offline engagement: consulting and events. My blog is the third product, where I chose to make the writing free.
What are your funnels? What is your product?
