What One Man Can Do For God
There is a story about Elijah, who was so exhausted from doing important things that he wanted to die. And an angel came, not with a vision or a new commission, but with food and water. And said: the journey is too great for you. Eat.
I think about this often. You need rest before you need inspiration. You need nourishment before you need direction.
One person, in the right place, at the right time, with the right faithfulness – can do more than a multitude operating from exhaustion and empty reserves.
What one person can do for a cause they believe in is not primarily a function of talent or platform. It’s a function of faithfulness. Showing up. Doing the next thing. Not burning out.
Rest is not the enemy of productivity. It’s the precondition of it.
