Why you must see yourself as the leader that you are

You must see yourself as the leader that you are.

Not the leader you might become. Not the leader you’ll be when you have a bigger platform, more experience, a better title. The leader you are, right now, with the people in front of you.

Leadership is not a position. It’s a practice. And the practice begins wherever you are.

I meet a lot of people who are waiting for permission to lead. They’re waiting to be appointed, recognised, validated. They’ve made leadership conditional on someone else’s acknowledgement.

But the people who actually change things don’t wait. They lead from where they are, with what they have, toward something they believe in.

You have influence right now – over someone, in some context. The question is whether you’re exercising it with intention.

See yourself as the leader you are. Then act accordingly.
